Abbreviated Description. Indumentum of appressed dibrachiate or malpighiaceous hairs, leaflets (6–)9–11(–16)m, alternate to subopposite, 9.5 × 3–19 × 4.5 cm, oblanceolate, oblong, oblong-lanceolate or elliptic, undersurface with some appressed medifixed or dibrachiate hairs, petiole with a pair of subulate scales 1–2 mm long, inflorescence 3–19 cm long, a pyramidal thyrse, petals 4–5, (2–) 3–4 mm long, 1–1.5 mm broad, free or fused for one third to two thirds their length and then becoming free and reflexing, valvate, filaments completely fused into an urceolate or cyathiform staminal tube, anthers 8–10, nectary absent, ovary pubescent, 3(–4)-locular, locules with 2 collateral ovules, capsule (1.5–) 2–3 cm long, 0.6–1.3 cm broad, 3-valved, ellipsoid or narrowly obovoid, papillose and with appressed indumentum, seeds 1–2, 1–1.5 cm long, completely surrounded by a thin fleshy arillode.
