Abbreviated Description. Indumentum shortly tomentose with simple hairs, leaflets 6–9, alternate to subopposite, 18 × 5–35 × 12 cm, oblanceolate to oblong, secondary veins 22–28 pairs, inflorescences often clustered (male) up to 20 cm long, a slender panicle, (female) ca. 3 cm long, few-flowered, petals (4)5, 4.5–6 mm long, free or fused to halfway, becoming reflexed, filaments completely fused in a staminal tube, margin with 8–10 short lobes, anthers 8–10, nectary absent, ovary densely pubescent, (2–)3–4)-locular, locules with (1–)2 collateral ovules, fruit unknown.
Distribution & Ecology. Southern Bahia, Espirito Santo and adjacent Minas Gerais, Brazil, mostly known from Atlantic rainforest.
Additional Collections Examined. BRAZIL. Bahia: Municipio Itamaraju, 5 km NW, Fazenda Pau-brasil (SW1739), Mori et al. 10713 (K). Minas Gerais: Parque Estadual do Rio Doce (SW2042), Costa et al. s.n. (K).
Conservation Status. Vulnerable A1 ( IUCN 2015).
