Remarks. The holotype in coll. Lower is a female, not a male as stated in the original description; it was examined superficially but not dissected. Meyrick (1925: 170) placed meliphanes between chloranthes Lower and apentheta Turner, Edwards (1996: 108) between apentheta and chloranthes Lower.
Biology. Host-plant unknown.
Distribution. Australia (South Australia).
