Distribution in Iran: Alborz (Ebrahimi 2014), Ardabil ( Ebrahimi 2005, 2014), East Azerbaijan ( Ghazi-Soltani et al. 2010a, c), Fars ( Atbaei et al. 2015; Rezaei & Fallahzadeh 2015), Kermanshah (Samin & Bagriacik 2015), Mazandaran (de Beaumont 1957; Ebrahimi 2014), Tehran ( Ebrahimi 2005).
General distribution: Afghanistan, Algeria, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Libya, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
Remarks: The subspecies Trypoxylon scutatum scutatum has been recorded from Fars ( Atbaei et al. 2015; Rezaei & Fallahzadeh 2015).
