Ficus matiziana Dugand (1946: 116)

Lectotype (designated here): — COLOMBIA. Cundinamarca, antiguo camino de herradura de Guaduas a Honda, del valle de Guaduas al Alto de Ficalito , vereda El Santo, 15 November 1945, H.Garcia-Barriga 11840 (lectotype: COL 25770 !; isolectotype: COL 25769 !, COL 25759 !, LIL!, NY!, US!).

Nomenclatural notes:— In the protologue is not stated the herbarium where the holotype of F.matiziana was deposited. Carauta (1989) was the first one to suggest the type specimen was at COL; however, there are three preparations of the same collection at this herbarium labelled Garcia-Barriga 11840. It is not clearly indicated in their labels whether they are part of a single specimen or not. Therefore these are considered to be three duplicates ( Turland et al. 2018, Art. 8.3). Therefore, Carauta’s typification was not effective. Here, we chose specimen Garcia-Barriga 11840 (COL 25770) as the lectotype because it is more complete and it has branches, leaves, stipules, peduncles, and syconia.

Taxonomical notes:— This name is currently accepted (e.g., Carauta 1989, Berg 2009).
