Order Hexactinosida Schrammen, 1903 Family Caseariidae Schrammen, 1936
Remarks.—The classification of Reid (2004) comprises four subfamilies (including Caseariinae) within the family Craticulariidae , although he illogically listed only 3 subfamilies at the beginning of the chapter without mentioning the Caseariinae. However, in accordance with Senowbari-Daryan and Zankl (2010), we use Casearia as the type genus for a separate family, the Caseariidae , primarily based on the unique chambered structure.
