Etymology. Named after Mr. Amit Dey, EDP incharge, Indian School of Learning, Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India as a token of love for his constant help to arrange the figure plates.

Remarks. Cumella amiti sp. nov. is similar to C. alexandrinae Petrescu, Chatterjee & Schizas (2012) and C. tuberculata sp. nov. (both of them from Puerto Rico) with four dorsal denticles on carapace. It differs with: 1) ocular lobe with five lenses like in C. tuberculata sp. nov. vs. two in C. alexandrinae ; 2) female with one denticle in posterior part of carapace like in C. alexandrinae vs. not like in C. tuberculata ; 3) serrate vs. smooth anterior margin of carapace; 4) pereopod 1 propodus shorter than carpus like in C. tuberculata vs. as long as in C. alexandrinae ; 5) uropodal peduncle shorter than last pleonite like in C. tuberculata vs. longer in C. alexandrinae ; 6) female uropod, peduncle with four setae on medial margin vs. five in C. alexandrinae and three in C. tuberculata .
