Etymology. The name of the species is in reference to the reticulated integument of carapace.

Remarks. Cumella reticulata sp. nov. has a high and short carapace like in C. biserrata , C. pagani , C. jamaicensis , C. medeeae . It differs in having the carapace without denticles, uropodal peduncle shorter than last pleonite, without setae on margins, endopod with short terminal seta vs. carapace with denticles, uropodal peduncle longer than last pleonite in C. biserrata and C. pagani , uropods with lateral setae in all previously mentioned species, endopod shorter than terminal seta in C. jamaicensis .
