– Lectotype (designated here by Oliver): Drège s.n. (S06-13288 [ex herb. Sond.], lecto; K-75854!, MEL-27720 [ex herb. Sond.], HBG- 503106, PRE-12089, SAM-15797!, S-G-8320, S08-7156, isolecto).

This species was included in the DNA analysis but came out unresolved in its position on the cladogram (see Fig. 1 ); morphologically it shares characterswith B. subg. Brunia , subg. Pseudobaeckea , and subg. Mniothamnea ( Quint 2004) .
