Notocyrtus depressus Stål, 1872 View in CoL
( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 27–34 )
Both Stål (1872) and Carvalho & Costa (1993) described only the female of Notocyrtus depressus , based on a type specimen from Colombia deposited in NHRS. Following Carvalho & Costa (1993), the main diagnostic characteristics of N. depressus species are its general black color, large size and the transversal furrow on the pronotum. The specimen examined here ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 27–34 ) is a female which matches well with the previous descriptions ( Stål 1872, Carvalho & Costa 1993).
Distribution. Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana (new record).
Material examined. FRENCH GUIANA, Bélizon , xi.1997, leg. H. Gaspard, 1 female ( MNRJ) .
