Parco Naturale delle Alpi Marittime: PAL single record.
General distribution: Northern, southern Italy; Italian, Swiss, Austrian Alps; Holarctic, western Oriental, Seychelles.
Habitat preferences: euryoecious, primarily silvicolous.
Remark: Body size 440 x 320 µm. The single specimen of this species differs morphologically from the similar Ch. pusillus by the smaller bothridial seta and the scutiform mentum ( Weigmann 2006).
