Taeniothrips lagoenifer Priesner, 1938: 478 View in CoL .
Although selected by Bhatti (1978) as the type species of Javathrips , this species is known only from two females taken in Java. The clear line-drawings provided by Bhatti indicate that the sense cones on the antennae of these females are exceptionally long, that on IV reaching the apex of segment V, a condition far longer than found in any other species of Taeniothrips View in CoL .
