B. sect. Platycentrum ( Klotzsch 1855: 243) de Candolle (1859: 134).

TYPE:— CHINA. Yunnan Province: Wenshan mt. , in mixed forests, 2000 m, 17 August 1947, Feng K. M. 11323 (holotype PE; isotypes E: E00022104 photo!, KUN) .

Ecology and phenology:— Evergreen broad-leaved forests, moist environments along streams, mountain bamboo thickets, at 1000–2200 m a.s.l. Flowering in June–October, fruiting from August.

Distribution: — China: Yunnan Province (Funing, Wenshan); northern Vietnam: Cao Bang Province (Phia Oac- Phia Den National Park) and Lao Cai Province (Bat Xat Nature Reserve).

Note:— The species is reported here from Vietnam for the first time.
