Meri paiaia spec. nov.

Type material. Holotype: BRAZIL: Bahia: ♀, Miguel Calmon, Parque Estadual das Sete Passagens ( ‑11.3833, -40.5167), 28 May–04 June 2010, P. Recoder leg ( IBSP 167988 ).

Etymology. The specific name refers to the Indigenous tribe Paiaia that originally inhabited the region of Miguel Calmon in Bahia; noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. Females of M. paiaia sp. nov. are distinguished from those of the other congeners by the epigyne with MS resembling an upside-down brandy glass ( Fig. 214 ) and the internal ducts with first turn and GP anterior to copulatory openings ( Figs 215–216 ). Males are unknown.

Description. Female ( holotype): Total length 20.0. Prosoma 8.5 long, 8.0 wide. Opisthosoma 11.4 long, 8.1 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.50, 0.42, 0.38, 0.44; interdistances: 0.45, 0.35, 0.70, 0.85, 0.43, 0.36. Legs: I: 32.2 (9.1, 4.4, 8.0, 8.5, 2.2); II: 35.5 (10.2, 4.5, 9.0, 9.4, 2.4); III: 26.2 (8.1, 3.6, 6.3, 6.3, 1.9); IV: 27.9 (8.5, 3.4, 6.9, 7.1, 2.0). Spination follows the generic pattern except metatarsus IV: r1-1-1. Epigyne: EF wider than long; MAB inconspicuous; MS slightly longer than wide; EP 1.5 times wider than long, opening slightly anterior to posterior margin of MS; LL touching posteriorly ( Figs 214 , 219 ). Vulva: internal ducts with FW posterolaterad; GP 2 times longer than wide, arising from ducts at first turn; SP elongate with grooves along posterior lateral margins; FD anteriad to antero laterad ( Figs 215–216 , 220 ).
