Diagnosis. Dima parnonensis is 12.0– 14.5 mm long species with a shiny pronotum, moderately densely covered with coarse punctures, and shiny elytra, covered with sparse short pubescence ( Figs 81–84 View FIGURES 75 – 89 , 170 View FIGURES 163 – 171 ). It differs from the similar D. arndti by the more shiny body, pronotum widest after middle, with sides almost evenly rounded (pronotum widest at 2/3, with sides abruptly constricted before posterior angles in D. arndti ; Figs 119 View FIGURES 119 – 130 , 149 View FIGURES 143 – 154 ), and the apical lobe of paramera shorter, more robust, with the inner apical part of paramera moderately to distinctly curved ( Figs 172–173 View FIGURES 172 – 181 , 204–205 View FIGURES 202 – 211 ).

Intraspecific variability. The typical D. parnonensis are dark brown-blackish but some specimens are paler ( Figs 81–84 View FIGURES 75 – 89 ).

Distribution. Greece (Peloponnese: Parnon Mts.; Fig. 246 View FIGURE 246 ).

Remarks. A specimen with light body coloration ( Fig. 84 View FIGURES 75 – 89 ) was determined and figured by Schimmel & Platia (2008) as D. raineri and used erroneously for the redescription of that species, which led to the description of D. pindosensis Schimmel & Platia , 2 0 0 8 based on the typical specimens of D. raineri ( Schimmel & Platia 2008) . A single male specimen of Dima sp. from Crete, which is similar to both D. arndti and D. parnonensis , is discussed above under D. arndti .
