Paratanaupodus insensus André & Lelievre-Farjon, 1960 . Acarologia 2: 466 (figs. 1–4) Paratanaupodus insensus: Robaux, 1968 . Acarologia 10: 450 (fig. 1).

André & Lelievre-Farjon (1960) described a single adult from Patagonia, Chile. There was no description of the genital area and the gender of the specimen is unknown. Robaux (1968) described additional material from Santiago and Lastaria, Chile. We tried to borrow the type specimen and other material of this species from the Museum Nationale d’Histoire Naturelle, Paris but none could be found (Dr M. Jundson, personal communication).
