Key to subfamilies and genera of Allotanaupodidae View in CoL View at ENA (adults and deutonymphs)

1 A pair of eyes present lateral to prodorsal sclerite; subcapitular setae present in addition to two or three pairs of adoral setae (in adults); telofemur of legs I–IV with a solenidion; palptibia elongate, more than three times as long as “tibial claw”...............................................................Allotanaupodinae subfam. nov. ....................................................................................................... (single genus Allotanaupodus gen. nov.)

- Eyes absent; subcapitulum with only two pairs of adoral setae, subcapitular setae absent posterior to insertion of palptrochanter (in adults); telofemur of legs I–IV without any solenidia; palptibia not elongate, obviously less than three times as long as “tibial claw” .......................Paratanaupodinae subfam. nov....2

2 All dorsal hysterosomal setae on individual small platelets; palptibia neither elongate nor shortened, about twice as long as “tibial claw”; palptarsus with four terminal eupathidia; palptarsus without a thick and short spine-like seta; leg IV longer than leg I ................... Paratanaupodus André & Lelievre-Farjon, 1960 Only some dorsal hysterosomal setae on individual small platelets; C, D, E, F, H and PS rows each with at least 1 pair of plates with multiple setae; palptibia relatively short, obviously less than twice as long as “tibial claw”; palptarsus with three terminal eupathidia; palptarsus with a thick and short spine-like seta; leg I longer than leg IV ......................................................................................
