Afrotropical: 1) Eswatini, 2) Mozambique, 3) South Africa, 4) Zimbabwe ( Norval 1985 b, Walker et al. 2000, Kolonin 2009, Horak et al. 2018).
Camicas et al. (1998) listed Rhipicephalus zumpti as a synonym of Rhipicephalus planus , while Walker et al. (2000) stated that these species are valid, although very similar morphologically, and that Rhipicephalus zumpti is also morphologically close to Rhipicephalus simus .
