Australasian: 1) Indonesia (east to Wallace’s Line), 2) Papua New Guinea, 3) Vanuatu; Oriental: 1) Philippines; remote islands: 1) Pacific Ocean Islands (central) of Peleliu and Samoa ( Kohls 1950b, 1957 a, Keirans & Brewster 1981, Kolonin 2009).

Records from the Philippines and one remote island (Peleliu Island) have been listed under the name Ixodes mindanensis , a probable synonym of Ixodes eichhorni , as discussed in Guglielmone & Nava (2014). These records are regarded here as provisionally valid.
