Nearctic: 1) Mexico (north), 2) USA ( Keirans & Clifford 1978, Durden & Keirans 1996, Kolonin 2009, Guzmán-Cornejo & Robbins 2010).

Ixodes tovari is listed as a Nearctic and Neotropical species in Camicas et al. (1998), but no Neotropical records have been found for this tick.
