Australasian: 1) Australia ( Roberts 1970, Barker & Walker 2014).

Roberts (1970) hypothesized that more than one species may be included under the name Ixodes tasmani . Kwak (2017) and Evans et al. (2019) presented molecular evidence sustaining that view.
