Afrotropical: 1) Malawi, 2) Mozambique, 3) Tanzania, 4) Uganda, 5) Zambia ( Hoogstraal 1956 b, Theiler 1962, Yeoman & Walker 1967, Tandon 1991).

Kolonin (2009) included Zimbabwe within the range of Haemaphysalis orientalis , but no records of this tick from that country have been found.
