Oriental: 1) Japan (the Ryukyu Islands) ( Yamaguti et al. 1971, Takano et al. 2014).

Camicas et al. (1998) regarded Haemaphysalis pentalagi as an Oriental and Palearctic species, but no records of this tick have been found for the Palearctic Region.
