Nearctic: 1) Mexico (north), 2) USA ( Yunker et al. 1986, Guzmán Cornejo et al. 2016).

Camicas et al. (1998) treated Dermacentor hunteri as a tick found in the Nearctic and Neotropical Regions, but no records from the latter region have been found.
