Afrotropical: 1) Malawi, 2) Rwanda, 3) Tanzania, 4) Uganda, 5) Zambia ( Walker et al. 2000, Lynen et al. 2007, Kolonin 2009).

Rhipicephalus interventus was confused with Rhipicephalus lunulatus and Rhipicephalus tricuspis prior to its description by Walker et al. (1995).
