(Elaeocarpaceae) in Philipp. J. Sci. 21(5): 501. 1922. TYPE:— CHINA. Guangdong: Shantou , alt. 600 m, 20 July 1921, F. A. McClure 76 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 6505) (syntype: PNH, destroyed, A 00051800 image!).

The name Elaeocarpus glabripetalus Merr. was validly published with a gathering “ McClure 6505 ” designated as the type ( Merrill, 1922b). However, the collecting number on the lable of the syntype specimen exists in A is 76, while its herbarium number is Canton Christian College Herbarium 6505. Therefore, the erroneous collecting number in the designation of type is to be corrected.
