Holotype:— USA. New Jersey: Pasadena, on bark, G.G. Nearing s/n (F!).
Description: Sierk (1964) and Kitaura (2012).
Notes: Leptogium milligranum is characterized by the ridged thallus, covered by granular isidia. The isidia are darker than the thallus and coralloid.
Fertile specimens were not found in Mato Grosso do Sul, but, when present, the apothecia have thick proper exciple composed by paraplectenchymatous tissue and fusiform ascospores ( Sierk 1964).
Distribution in Brazil: First record to Mato Grosso do Sul state, but the species was recently reported to São Paulo ( Kitaura et al. 2017).
