Leptogium coralloideum (Meyen & Flot.) Vain. (1915: 110) View in CoL . ( Figure 1D View FIGURE 1 )

Leptogium diaphanum f. coralloideum Meyen & Flot. (1843: 226) View in CoL .

Type:—not traced ( Jørgensen 1994; Galloway & Jørgensen 1995).

Description: Verdon (1992).

Notes: Leptogium coralloideum is characterized by the ridged thallus covered by isidia on the ridges and margin of the thallus.

Leptogium coralloideum View in CoL is the isidiate counterpart of L. phyllocarpum ( Dodge 1933) View in CoL , but is usually found sterile and can be confused with L. isidiosellum (Riddle) Sierk. While in Leptogium coralloideum View in CoL the proper exciple is paraplectenchymatous, in L. isidiosellum the cortex of the thalline exciple is paraplectenchymatous.
