Distribution: Taiwan only. Described from specimens imported to Japan from Taiwan. Its occurrence in Taiwan can now be confirmed. [1]

New records: Ilan, Fushan, light trap, 30.v.1995 (A. Warneke) (1); Nantou, Neimoupu, funnel trap, 29.iii.2005 (C. S. Lin) (2) .

Taxonomy: The holotype (NHML) has been examined. The species does not belong in Ptilopodius Hopkins , but in Ernoporus Thomson. Within this genus, it is closest to species formerly placed in the genus Euptilius Schedl , a genus currently considered to be a synonym of Ernoporus Thomson ( Wood & Bright 1992). Pending further study of these genera, the species is considered here as a member of Ernoporus .
