91. Diuncus ciliatoformis (Schedl) *

Xyleborus ciliatoformis Schedl, 1953b: 290 .

Distribution: Malaysia (E. & W.), New Guinea. New to Taiwan. [4]

New records: Nantou, Hui Son , cup trap, 17.xi.2006, 16.xii.2006, 18.v.2007 (L. Y. Liu) (4) .

Hosts: Recorded from Shorea , Vatica (Dipterocarpaceae) , and Pasania (Fagaceae) .

Browne (1961) notes a preference for Dipterocarpaceae in West Malaysia, and all published records except one from Pasania are from this family.

Biology: Browne (1961) briefly describes the gallery system.

Taxonomy: Hulcr and Cognato (2009) consider the species to be a synonym of Diuncus justus (Eggers) , although they did not formally publish the synonymy. We prefer to consider the two species as distinct.
