( Figures 5 View FIGURES 5 and 6 , 6)
Centris mocsaryi Friese, 1899: 42 View in CoL .
Diagnosis. Female: Clypeus and/or lower paraocular area with yellow spots ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5 and 6 ); mesoscutum and mesoscutellum with dark brown hairs on discs usually surrounded by yellow hairs ( Figs. 5 View FIGURES 5 and 6 , 6); T1 with yellow hairs; primary pygidial plate with straight lateral margins and acute apex; secondary pygidial plate with closed apex, mandibular teeth 2nd>4th>3rd.
Morphology. Female ( Figs. 5 View FIGURES 5 and 6 , 6). Measurements: body length: 22.8; head width: 7.0; thorax width: 9.2; forewing length: 20.3; UID: 2.8; LID: 3.3; mandible length: 3.2; mandible basal width: 1.3; labrum length: 1.1; labrum width: 2.1; F1 length: 1.4; F2 length: 0.3; F3 length: 0.5; scape length: 0.9; diameter of median ocellus: 0.5; distance between lateral ocellus and eye: 0.6. Coloration: Integument dark brown to black, except lower paraocular area yellow (lower half of clypeus sometimes with two triangular spots) ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5 and 6 ). Tegula brown, slightly translucent. Hind tibia and tarsi light brown. Terga dark brown, with weak bluish metallic reflections. T6 orange. Sterna light brown. Wing membranes and veins dark brown with weak greenish iridescence. Sculpture: Clypeus slightly areolate, less evident on disc, coarsely punctate laterally. Labrum with coarse, dense punctures, except basally narrowly smooth. T1 smooth, with fine, scattered punctures laterally. T2 and T3 with very fine, dense punctures. T4 with coarser, denser punctures than on preceding terga. T5 with coarser punctures than on T4. Pubescence: Labrum with yellow, plumose, dense pubescence, mixed with some light brown, simple hairs. Clypeus with dark brown, long, simple hairs on laterosuperior margin. Supraclypeal area and surface near the antennal socket with a mixture of light brown and yellowish hairs ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5 and 6 ). Gena with yellowish pubescence (Fig. 6). Vertex with dark brown hairs ( Figs. 5 View FIGURES 5 and 6 , 6). Mesosoma mainly with yellow pubescence, except disc of mesoscutum and mesoscutellum with brown hairs (variable among specimens) ( Figs. 5 View FIGURES 5 and 6 , 6). Tegula with yellow pubescence, with tuft of dark brown hairs on anterior half. Legs mainly with dark brown pubescence, except scopa yellow (Fig. 6). T1 with yellow, long, plumose hairs on disc and on anterior surface, dark brown laterally. T2 and T3 with dark brown, short, very dense pilosity. T4 with similar, slightly longer pubescence than on preceding terga. T5 with short, yellow pubescence mixed with some brown, long, simple hairs. Fimbriae light brown, slightly orange. Structures: Mandible with four teeth of acute apex (length: 1st>2nd>4th>3rd) ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5 and 6 ). Trimal angle welldeveloped, acute. Acetabular carina reaching base of fourth tooth. Clypeus with upper half convex, lower half concave (lateral view). Labrum elliptical. Vertex above upper interocular tangent. Inner orbits of compound eyes slightly converging dorsally ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5 and 6 ). Fore elaiospathe with secondary anterior comb formed by four, long, apically curved hairs. Mesoscutellum with barely noticeable protuberances, almost absent. Basitibial plates elliptical, secondary plate slightly projected backwards, with posterior edge emarginated beyond posterior margin of primary plate. Pygidial plates with acute apices, primary plate with lateral margins straight.
