Tarsomeres with a dense ventral brush of hairs are present in members of Chauliodidae ( Maki 1936: Fig. 32), Corydalidae and Sialidae . Tarsomere 4 is expanded and bilobed in Sialis species ( Theischinger 1991; Figs 3d View Fig. 3 , 5E,I View Fig. 5 ).
