Identification. Perennial tussock grass, 0.1–0.8 m height. Leaf-blades filiform, convolute, 19–30 cm long, glabrous, ligulate. It is characterized by its inflores- cence with 2 terminal branches, with green and glabrous spikelets.

Remarks. Relatively common species on the native grassland.

Brazilian range. South (except RS state) and Southeast (SP state) regions.
