Hypobapta L. B. Prout View in CoL (Figs 830–843)

Hypobapta View in CoL has a primarily southern Australian distribution. This genus consists of four species, of which the eggs of two are illustrated. The general shape of the eggs of these two species are different, however there are similarities between the two. Both eggs are marked faintly all over by hexagonal cells and the aeropyles in both are inconspicuous with small openings. The distribution of the aeropyles is broadly limited to the rim of the egg. The eggs of H. diffundens View in CoL Lower [from SEMs ( McFarland 1972 a) photographed by McFarland (1988)], appear to be very similar in general shape and morphology.
