Colour: Pale green, becoming reddishbrown and then transparent grey before eclosion (Fig. 337).

Shape: Narrow, elongated, bluntly ovoid, posterior pole subacute; polar profile circular; wedge shape in profile; anterior pole truncated, slightly angled to horizontal axis (Figs 337, 338, 340 & 342).
Characteristics: Egg marked on all surfaces by flat to slightly convex hexagonal cells (Figs 340–342). Cell walls narrow, generally barely discernible (Fig. 341); micropylar cell walls narrow, slightly elevated (Fig. 339). Aeropyles inconspicuous, slightly elevated only on, near anterior pole, openings moderately large (Fig. 342), present on all surfaces apart from middle of top of cell. Chorion rough, pitted (Figs 341 & 343); wrinkled on anterior pole (Fig. 339).
