Subfamily Geometrinae View in CoL View at ENA

This large subfamily has most of its representation in the tropics and subtropics. Australian species are divided into two groups the stoutbodied greys and the slenderbodied greens. The grey geometrine fauna is concentrated in Australia with a large number of endemic species. The greens are more ubiquitous, nevertheless with many endemic species. There are sixtytwo listed Australian genera and one hundred and eightyeight species ( McQuillan and Edwards 1996).
