Inurois asahinai Inoue View in CoL
( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 2–21 )
Inurois asahinai View in CoL : Vertyankin 2015: 146 (Gornozavodsk).
Material examined. 1 ♂, eastern suburb of Kholmsk, ~ 2 km E of S Kholmsk , hills between Tatarka and Tyi rivers 8.XI.2020, O. Titova legit .; 3 ♂, S Kholmsk , 4, 6.XI.2021 ; 2 ♂, Chaplanovo , 2.XI.2021 .
Distribution. Russia (S RFE: SW Sakhalin), Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu).
Remarks. The finding of I. asahinai in Sakhalin significantly expands its distribution range to the north. This is the second record of I. asahinai from Sakhalin. The first specimen was taken about 60 km south, in the vicinity of Gornozavodsk, 12.XI.2013 ( Vertyankin 2015). Same as for A. japonensis , we can talk about an increase in the number of species in the vicinity of Kholmsk. Thus, our finding of the species in Sakhalin confirms its distribution here but its initial accidental introduction from Japan with imported goods is not excluded.
In Japan the larvae feed on Prunus jamasakura , P. yedoensis ( Rosaceae ), and Acer sieboldianum ( Sapindaceae ). Apparently, they are polyphagous on leaved trees, as it is known for other species of Inurois . The moths were captured flying at day time in first half of November, when the average air temperature approximates to 0 degrees.
