Specimens examined:
Holotype: Dolo, Amino, 13 ottobre 1937, desiré, Diplocladus rufus n. sp., TYPUS, Diplocladus rufus Pic, Atti XIX, ( MCST).
Others: S-Afrika, Natal, St. Lucia Creek, 12/1986 leg.Werner (3 3, CRG).
Length: 12.9mm – 14.4mm (4 specimens).
Head: Reddish brown; finely and diffusely punctate.
Antennae: Reddish brown to dark brown; not reaching base of pronotum when laid alongside. Pronotum: Reddish brown; parallel, very slightly constricted apically, conspicuously constricted behind middle;
wrinkled; length:width ratio 1.48:1.
Scutellum: Reddish brown.
Elytra: Long, reddish brown; diameter of punctures mostly larger than interstices, punctures becoming smaller towards apex; length:width ratio 2.99:1.
Legs: Femora reddish brown, tibiae and tarsi dark brown. Lower surface: Reddish brown.
Vestiture: With light reddish to gold-coloured hairs.
Distribution: Somalia, South Africa.
