Specimens examined:

Holotype: Ƥ. Tanzania, Ruvuma, near Songes, 12.– 17.12.1996, leg Werner & Lizler, coll. R. Gerstmeier, CRG, Munich (CRG).

Paratypes: South Africa, KwaZulu-Natal, Ndumu, 26.55S- 32.18E, 21.11.2002, E-Y:3553, light trap, leg. J. Harrison, R. Müller (3 ex., TMSA; 1 ex., CRG); South Africa: Transvaal, Sand River Mt. S 24.32 E 27.39 8/ 9.XI.1985, CL Bellamy, AV Evans (1 3, SANC); Beira, A. Bodong, Coll. Kraatz, Schenkling det., Eberswalde, coll. DEI, Müncheberg (1 3, DEI).

Length: 12mm – 14.5mm (7 specimens).

Head: Black; very finely and diffusely punctate.

Antennae: Dark reddish brown to black; not reching base of pronotum when laid alongside; A5 to A10 serrate.

Pronotum: Dark reddish brown to black; sides parallel anterior to transverse depression, constricted towards base; disc finely and diffusely punctate, with several slight elevations behind transverse depression, length:width ratio 1.57:1.

Scutellum: Dark brown to black.

Elytra: Black, or dark reddish brown to black; each elytron with a orange-yellow lateral spot in the basal third and orange-yellow transverse fasciae not reaching lateral or sutural margins; fasciae with one acute extension towards base of elytra and two smaller extensions directed apically; diameter of punctures mostly larger than interstices, punctures elongate behind fascia, punctation absent towards apex; length:width ratio 2.43:1. Legs: Dark reddish brown to black.

Lower surface: Dark to light reddish brown, apical two or three ventrites brown. Vestiture: With yellowish to reddish hairs.

Distribution: Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania.

Etymology: Named after the short orange-yellow fascia on each elytron.
