Remarks: The known distribution of H. araucana includes Punta Arenas, Chile ( Cunningham, 1871; Grosso & Peralta 1999 and González 2003), Patagonia to Tierra del Fuego ( Bousfield, 1996), Ushuaia ( Grosso & Peralta 1999) and the Province of Santa Cruz, Argentina ( Table 1). The samples from Arroyo Calafate, in the Province of Santa Cruz, and in Lake Escondido, in the Province of Tierra del Fuego confirm the occurrence of this species in these provinces.
