( Figs. 4 View FIGURE 4 A–E)

Lecithocera radamella Viette, 1968: 88 View in CoL . TL: Amber Mountain , Les Roussettes.

Type. 1♂ (holotype), North Madagascar, Amber Mountain (Montagne d’Ambre), Les Roussettes, alt. 1,000 m, 7 xii 1958, P. Viette leg.; P.E.L. Viette det. 1967, Lecithocera radamella n. sp., Holotype, ♂, P. Viette; genitalia: prep. P. Viette no. 4678.

Adults ( Figs. 4A, B View FIGURE 4 ). Wingspan, 15 mm. The species has a similar pattern of the forewing and the antenna with the type species, P. matutinalis Cho & Agassiz , but the hind wing is characteristically shortened with rounded termen, and M 3 merged with CuA 1.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 4C, D View FIGURE 4 ): Viette (1968) noted that the male genitalia are similar to those of L. compsophila ( Meyrick, 1911) which was described from Sri Lanka ( Ceylon). The male genitalia were dissected and examined by Viette (1968, gen. prep. P. Viette no. 4678), however, he did not illustrate the genitalia (illustrated here for the first time).

Remarks. The new species can be distinguished from its allies by having a uniquely shortened hind wing, with rounded termen. In view of this unusual shape of the hind wing, it should perhaps be removed from Parkiana . However, it is tentatively placed in this genus, further study being needed to reassess its generic status.

Distribution. Madagascar (North) (Viette, 1968).
