Diagnosis: Head with one or two pairs of interfrontal bristles in addition to the usual pair of interfrontal setulae just above ptilinal suture. Postvertical bristles usually well developed, similar in length and strength to occipital bristles (shorter in R. setilamella ). Postocellar bristles usually present. Arista distinctly shorter than head height (subequal to head height in R. setilamella ). Prosternum narrow, bare. Vein R 2+3 usually abruptly bent forward at distal 1/4, with or without short posterior stump vein at bend.
