Body length 1.0– 1.5 mm. General color pale to dark brown, heavily pollinose but without conspicuous patterns.

Head: Face, gena, antenna and lower frons brown to dark brown, head otherwise dark brown. Interfrontal bristles in 3 pairs (rarely in 4 or 2 pairs). Two orbital bristles, anterior orbital bristle half as long as posterior, similar in size to interfrontal bristles. Uppermost orbital setula present between orbital bristles. Ocellar bristle, inner and outer vertical bristles, and inner and outer occipital bristles well developed; postvertical bristle small, slightly larger than half of inner occipital, parallel or slightly convergent; postocellar bris tle absent. Eye height ca. 2.5–2.6 times genal height. Arista slightly longer than head height; aristal hairs 2 times as long as basal width of arista.

Thorax: Prosternum narrow, bare. Dorsocentral bristles in 2 postsutural pairs. Anterior postsutural dorsocentral bristles only slightly longer than acrostichal setulae and shorter than middle prescutellar acrostichal bristles. Acrostichal setulae in 6 rows between anterior dorsocentral bristles. Apical scutellar bristles 1.5 times length of scutellum. Posterodorsal katepisternal bristle half as long as distance between bristle base and wing base; anterodorsal katepisternal bristle small and 1/3 as long as posterodorsal. Halter knob pale brown; stem pale yellow. Length ratio of second to third costal sector ca. 0.53–0.60. R 2+3 almostly straight, distal 1/4 slightly curved forward. R and costa ending together before wing apex. Discal cell without appendices. Tarsi and fore tibiae yellow. Mid tibia with a single dorsal proximal bristle, an anterodorsal bristle near middle, and an anterodorsal, dorsal and posterodorsal distally; distal dorsal bristle very small. Mid femur with two anterior preapical bristles. Mid tibia of male with a short apicoventral and several short, stout ventral bristles on distal third. Mid femur of male with 6 ventral basal bristles in 2 irregular rows.

Male abdomen: Abdominal tergites uniformly dark and similar in length. Sternite 5 nearly twice as long as sternite 4, with many dark, clublike scales on posteromedial margin, a pair of shining posteromedial patches, and a distinct borderline between dark anterior and pale posteromedial area. Dorsomedial length of epandrium ca. 0.25X length of sternite 8. Surstylus almost entirely setose. Cercus narrow, similar in length to surstylus, and setulose except for distal half. Postgonite with a pointed apex. Ejaculatory apodeme very small.

Female abdomen: Tergites 1–7 uniformly pigmented and entire. Cercus short, setose. Sternite 7 longer than sternite 6, convex posteromedially; sternite 8 absent; sternite10 pale, transverse, setulose. Spermathecae with semispherical distal portions and several spinules on bases. Spermathecal duct long, over 3 times as long as spermatheca.
