Cheiracanthium lompobattangi Merian, 1911, p. 281 , figs D1, E1 (description of syntypes 2 ♂ from INDONESIA: Celebes Island: Moncong Lompobatang mountain (05°20 ʹ 48 ″ S, 119° 55 ʹ 54 ″ E); Dr Paul & Dr Fritz Sarasin leg. 1906).

Comments

This highland species is known only from the male specimens collected in Celebes Island, Indonesia ( Merian 1911) . Merian notes that E . lompobattangi easily differs from all other species described from Celebes by the following statements: ‘spur is very short and flat’ and ‘the carapace is longer than the tibia of the fourth pair of legs’ (‘ Der Sporn des Tasters ist sehr kurz und flach ’ and ‘ Cephalothorax, der länger als die Tibia des 4 ’, Merian 1911, p. 281) . The latter can probably be a characteristic of other species of the genus Eutittha as well .

Although Merian (1911) gave a very basic description of the male, his illustration of the palp is quite detailed. This allows us to confidently assert that E. lompobattangi and E. marplesi are very similar to each other; however, the tip of the RTA is bent to the outside in the former ( Merian 1911: fig. D1), while to the inside in the latter ( Chrysanthus 1967: fig. 9).
