Type material: Holotype ♂: “ CHINA: Yunnan, Baoshan Pref. , creek valley 21 km S Tengchong, 1358 m, 24°50'22"N, 98°27'01"E, washed from creek border and gravel bank, 30.VIII.2009, leg. M. Schülke [CH09-20] / Holotypus ♂ Anaulacaspis pectinata sp. n., det. V. Assing 2016” ( MNB). GoogleMaps

Etymology: The specific epithet is an adjective derived from the Latin noun pecten (comb) and alludes to the comb-like setae at the posterior margin of tergite VIII.

Description: Body length 2.4 mm; length of forebody 1.3 mm. Coloration: head dark reddish-brown; pronotum reddish; elytra pale-reddish with a very indistinct and diffuse medio-lateral infuscate spot; abdomen darkyellowish, with the median portions of tergite V and VII infuscate; legs yellowish; antennae blackish-brown with the basal three antennomeres yellowish.

Head 1.07 times as broad as long, without sexual dimorphism; punctation rather sparse and extremely fine. Eyes much longer than postocular region in dorsal view. Antenna 0.95 mm long and slender; antennomeres IV and V weakly oblong, VI approximately as broad as long, VII–X of gradually increasing width and increasingly transverse, X barely 1.5 times as broad as long.

Pronotum approximately 1.1 times as broad as long and slightly broader than head, with a pronounced, but small impression near posterior margin, this impression anteriorly extending into short and fine sulcus not reaching middle of pronotum; punctation very fine and dense, more distinct and denser than that of head.

Elytra slightly longer than pronotum; punctation very fine and moderately dense. Hind wings fully developed.

Abdomen narrower than elytra; punctation moderately fine and moderately dense, anterior and posterior portions of tergites with sparse punctation; tergite VIII ( Figs 191–192 View Figs 187–210 ) with weakly convex posterior margin and with a comb-like row of slightly modified marginal setae.

♂: posterior margin of sternite VIII ( Fig. 193 View Figs 187–210 ) obtusely pointed in the middle, marginal setae thin and not very long; median lobe of aedeagus ( Figs 194–195 View Figs 187–210 ) approximately 0.4 mm long and slender; ventral process very slender and apically acute both in lateral and in ventral view; internal sac with a long dark structure.

♀: unknown.

Comparative notes: For characters distinguishing A. pectinata from its adelphotaxon A. gilva see the comparative notes in the preceding section.

Distribution and natural history: The type locality is situated in Northwest Yunnan at an altitude of approximately 1360 m. The holotype was washed from the gravel bank of a stream.
