Diagnosis. Vein MA with four main branches reaching wing margin ( Fig. 207A View FIGURE 207 ). Tegmina with five large asymmetric hyaline bands; hyaline bands with small marks thin and dark, some marks angulate; cell MP–CuA wide ( Fig. 207A View FIGURE 207 ). Apex of cercus with acuminate projection ( Fig. 207B View FIGURE 207 ).
Description. Holotype Male.
Wings. Vein MA with four main branches reaching wing margin ( Fig. 207A View FIGURE 207 ). Tegmina with five large asymmetric hyaline bands; hyaline bands with small marks thin and dark, some marks angulate; cell MP–CuA wide ( Fig. 207A View FIGURE 207 ).
Legs. All femora ventrally with several small spines ( Fig. 207A View FIGURE 207 ).
Internal male genitalia. Unknown.
Coloration. Described based on photos of holotype available in OSF online (orthoptera.speciesfile.org) ( Fig. 201 View FIGURE 201 ). Body and tegmina yellowish green. Eyes brown. Dorso-lateral suture narrow and black.
Female: Described in the original publication of Rossophyllum clausum by Grant (1958).
Distribution. Bolivia: Cochabamba; Brazil: Amazonas; Colombia: Amazonas; Ecuador: Gualaquiza; Peru: Huanuco, Junin, Loreto and Iquitos ( Fig. 208 View FIGURE 208 ).
Holotype ♂. ECUADOR, Gualaquiza ( MRSNT).
Observation of behavior. Wide distribution in the literature in the western portion of the Amazon biome up to Andean mountainous areas, with some records in the Inambari and Napo area of endemism. It is possible that this large distribution encompasses more than one species of Tropicophyllum comb. nov.
