Coments. Group formed by a species with wide distribution, occurring from Panama to Colombia ( Fig. 139 View FIGURE 139 ). Characterized by enlarged tegmina; vein MA with six main branches reaching wing margin ( Fig. 135 View FIGURE 135 ). Tegmina with six narrow and well-defined hyaline bands, overlapping the branches of the M and CuA veins; hyaline bands with small circular patches lined up ( Fig. 135 View FIGURE 135 ); vein MP and last branch of CuA vein forming a pentagonal cell ( Fig. 135 View FIGURE 135 ); all femora ventrally with several small spines ( Figs. 134F–H View FIGURE 134 ). Together with the species of the Tropicophyllum sentum View in CoL comb. nov. group, they are the largest katydids of this genus. It is possible that, as discovered in this study for the other groups of species of Tropicophyllum View in CoL stat. rev., it is likely that within the current distribution of T. colloseum comb. nov., there are new cryptic species.
