Diagnosis. Vein MA with four main branches reaching wing margin ( Fig. 65 View FIGURE 65 ). Mesobasisternum lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally and posteriorly straight, forming a posterolaterally blunt tip ( Fig. 64E View FIGURE 64 ). Metabasisternum anteriorly straight; lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally and posteriorly straight, posterolaterally forming an angle of 90° ( Fig. 64E View FIGURE 64 ). Apex of cercus with rectangular projection with dark brown color ( Fig. 64K View FIGURE 64 ).
Description. Holotype Male.
Thorax. Mesobasisternum triangular, anteriorly straight; lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally and posteriorly straight, forming a posterolaterally blunt tip ( Fig. 64E View FIGURE 64 ). Metabasisternum triangular, anteriorly straight; lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally and posteriorly straight, posterolaterally forming an angle of 90° ( Fig. 64E View FIGURE 64 ).
Wings. Vein MA with four main branches reaching wing margin ( Fig. 65 View FIGURE 65 ). Left stridulatory file curved; basal teeth smaller and more spaced apart ( Fig. 66A View FIGURE 66 ). Total file length of 2.5 mm, greater vein width of 0.5 mm and total of 63 teeth. Right stridulatory slightly sinuose; basal teeth smaller and more spaced apart ( Fig. 66B View FIGURE 66 ). Total length file of 2.2 mm, widest vein of 0.2 mm and total of 36 teeth.
Legs. Hind femur with expanded region equivalent to 2/3 of the total femur length ( Fig. 64H View FIGURE 64 ).
Abdomen. Cercus slightly curved inwards, with the apex not expanded ( Figs. 64I–K View FIGURE 64 ). Apex of cercus with rectangular projection with a dark brown color ( Fig. 64K View FIGURE 64 ). Stylus small and rectangular ( Fig. 64I View FIGURE 64 ).
Internal male genitalia. Ejaculatory vesicles reniform ( Figs. 67A–D View FIGURE 67 ). Upper folds of ventral lobe large, triangular and not connected ( Figs. 67A–B View FIGURE 67 ). Titillator process large and asymmetrical ( Figs. 67A–D View FIGURE 67 ). Lower folds of ventral lobe large, bilobate and exceeding the dorsal lobe ( Figs. 67A–B View FIGURE 67 ). Dorsal lobes anteriorly with median triangular projection, anterolaterally with two elongated projections, laterally and posteriorly convex ( Figs. 67A–D View FIGURE 67 ). Dorsal folds elongated, narrow and with asymmetrical apex ( Figs. 67C–D View FIGURE 67 ).
Coloration. Based on photos of preserved specimen ( Fig. 64 View FIGURE 64 ). Body yellowish-brown. Eyes brown.
Female. Unknown.
Etymology. The epithet is in apposition, Tepequém comes from the Brazilian indigenous language and means “fire god”, referring to the type locality of this species.
