15. Echiniscus carsicus Mihelčič, 1966 View in CoL [T]

E. (E.) carsicus Mihelcic, 1966 ( Claps & Rossi 1984) View in CoL

Terra typica: Italy (Europe)

Argentina:

• 26°18′S, 65°37′W; 1,650 m asl: Tucumán Province, Hualinchay, lichens on house wall. Claps & Rossi (1984)

• 26°51′S, 65°23′W; 1,400 m asl: Tucumán Province, Villa Nogués, mosses on house wall. Claps & Rossi (1984)

Record numbers: Argentina: 2; total: 2.

Remarks: The species belongs to the arctomys group and the records by Claps & Rossi (1984) are the only report of this species outside Europe ( McInnes 1994a). Its presence in South America is therefore dubious and should be verified (see remarks to E. arctomys above).
