Range: — Honduras to Panama; Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia ( CH, LP, SC, TA) and northwestern Argentina; southeastern Brazil; Hawaii (naturalized).
Ecology: —Uncommon; on raw soils of landslides, roadbanks, rock faces, and riverbanks; 1100–2650 m.
Notes: —Differs from P. calomelanos by the bright yellow to orange-yellow farina abaxially. Typically, this species grows at higher elevations than P. calomelanos .
